HYPOGLYCEMIA
What is hypoglycemia? It is low blood sugar.
Here are a few things to look for if you suspect HYPOGLYCEMIA:
1. Will not eat
2. Lifelessness
3. White or Pale gums
4. Puppy not walking straight.
Things that could happen it left untreated :
1. Dehydrating
2. Seizures
3. Can 't hold down food or water
All of these things could lead to death if left untreated. You can go on line and learn more about this condition its common in most tiny toy breeds.
Here are a few simple things to do to avoid this from happening and this things can also help if the sugar does drop.
1. Nutri- Cal or Nutri Stat(sold at pets mart or most vets) is wonderful to give a small amount every day. If you suspect the pups sugar is dropping place a small amount on the top of tongue.
2.Karo Syrup- you can add a few drops to puppies water for the 1st couple of wks. Don't give to much or for to long it will cause loose stools. If you ever notice your puppy cant walk straight place a small amount in the mouth. It will raise sugar levels very fast.
I do not cover hypoglycemia.
